2003 Rachel Corrie killed

Rachel Corrie, 23-year-old American peace activist, was crushed to death by an Israeli military bulldozer on Mar. 16, 2003, while undertaking nonviolent direct action to protect the home of a Palestinian family from demolition. Since her killing, solidarity activities have been carried out in her name around the world.

Most people in the USA still do not know what is really happening in Palestine. The British stole a large portion of that nation's land and gave it to the Zionists, who created a nation they called "Israel." Since then Israel has gradually been stealing more and more of the land of Palestine, until now all that remains is a few shreds in which they keep the Palestinians imprisoned. Israel uses sophisticated attack jets and naval vessels to bomb densely-crowded refugee camps, schools, apartment blocks, mosques, and slums to attack a population that has no air force, no air defense, no navy, no heavy weapons, no artillery units, no mechanized armor, no command in control, no army… and calls it a war. It is not a war, it is murder. In areas that Israel already has absorbed, a racist apartheid system is in place, as bad as anything that ever existed in South Africa.

Pardon my rant, but this issue is important to me personally. My parents were Jewish, and when I was young I went regularly to a local synagogue for lessons in the Hebrew language. There were boxes where one could donate coins to "plant a tree in Israel." At the time I did not know what that meant. Planting trees sounds like a good thing. But the Israeli practice is to evict Palestinians from their home, run a bulldozer through the home to knock it down, clear away the rubble, and then plant trees there to conceal the history.

By the way, take care not to confuse "Jewish," "Israeli," and "Zionist." They are three different things. But I am sorry to say that many Israelis and many American Jews have been misled by Zionist propaganda.
