Under African Skies

This 2012 film will be shown for free at Sarratt Cinema, but parking anywhere near there may be difficult. The film is about Paul Simon’s trip to South Africa. A review in the Nashville Scene says the film is focused largely on the politics of the trip, which was made while most nations of the world were boycotting South Africa for its apartheid: “Was Simon defiantly aiming to bring South African music into the mainstream, or was he just another white dude arrogantly jacking black folks’ music?”
