Defending Our Right to Resist

A discussion of the J20 case. On January 20, 2017, 230 people were mass arrested for demonstrations during Donald Trump's Inaugeration. They faced the possibility of 61 years in prison, charged with felonies including rioting, conspiracy and destruction of property. The charges are a dramatic escalation in the repression of dissent in the United States. Most of the defendants supported each other to not only beat the charges, but also to defend the legitimacy of "uncomprimising resistance to the Trump regime." What will happen now? (Editor's comment: I think the problems did not begin with Trump.) This discussion will happen at Nashville Peace and Justice Center, 530 26th Ave N, Nashville 37209.
