Poor People's Campaign

For 6 Mondays, May 14 through June 18, except Monday May 28 is Memorial Day so that day's action is moved to Tuesday May 29.

We are building a moral movement to unite the poor, disenfranchised, and marginalized to take action together and become what Dr. King called "a new and unsettling force in our national life."

This is part of a national campaign, which you can read about at

A list of weekly themes can be found at

At noon we will have training for those who wish to participate in civil disobedience; attendance is optional for others. At 2pm, we will gather on Legislative Plaza. The civil disobedience (generally something that doesn't harm any persons or property, but invites arrest) will begin after 3pm. People who do not wish to be arrested will not be at risk for that.

The theme for June 11 is "Everybody's Got the Right to Live: Education, Living Wage Jobs, Income, Housing." Labor Unions will be joining in on June 11.
