Non-religious holiday celebration

Sunday Assembly Nashville (“SAN”) will host a unique religion-free holiday celebration on December 9 for the growing secular population in the Nashville metro area. Currently, one in four Nashville residents claim to have no religious affiliation. SAN organized the event to create an inclusive gathering to bring together those who feel left out in the cold by the religious narratives that dominate the holiday season.

The event will showcase a variety of non-religious celebrations, including Winter Solstice, HumanLight, Festivus and other seasonal traditions. These traditions are often associated with Christianity, but actually originated from ancient cultures, many of which pre-dated Christianity. The special 90-minute program will feature poetry, personal reflections, and seasonal music performed by a 7-piece band and 11-piece choir.
