Poor People's Campaign Convening

Jan 6, 2019 at 3 PM Jan 9, 2019 at 3 PM

Vine Street Christian Church
4101 Harding Pike, Nashville, Tennessee 37205

The Tennessee Poor People's Campaign Convening is four days of training, fellowship, action and events as we prepare ourselves for the upcoming 2019 legislative session, make our voices heard to politicians, and show up at the Capitol to remind those in power that there is a "new, unsettling force" and "we won't be silent anymore." Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival! Forward together, not one step back!

This four-day convening is for movement veterans who marched, sang and went to jail during the 40 Days of Nonviolent Direct Action, as well as new folks who we have met during canvasses, jail supports and community meetings, as well as those who have been interested in the campaign but haven't directly connected with us. This will be a great time for veterans to reconnect and new folks to come in! We'd love for everyone to be at every moment of the four-day convening, but we know that may not be possible. You can attend one or two or all of the sessions as your schedule allows.

We do have overnight accommodations for folks who are traveling from out of town, and will be providing most meals for those attending. If you have other travel assistance needs, please contact us and we'll do our best to assist.
