Poor People's Campaign Demand Delivery

Vine Street Christian Church
4101 Harding Pike, Nashville, Tennessee 37205

The Tennessee Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival is going back to the Capitol on Tuesday. On the opening day of the 2019 Tennessee Legislative Session, the poor, clergy and activists will deliver the demands of the Poor People's Campaign to state lawmakers.

It's been a year since the demands were first delivered to state elected representatives in Nashville. Since that first demand delivery, the Tennessee Poor People's Campaign engaged in 40 days of non-violent civil disobedience to highlight the injustices of and the need for change around issues of poverty, systemic racism, the war economy and ecological devastation. During those 40 days, police made more than 90 arrests of those engaged in action with the Poor People's Campaign. All those charges were dismissed in November and now we're going back to the capitol!

Join us Tuesday morning at 9 am for a pre-action training and then let's go to the Capitol together.
