This event is a combination of lecture, slideshow, and discussion.

“Bourgeois [capitalist] society stands at the crossroads,” the great Marxist theoretician Frederick Engels once said: “either transition to socialism or regression into barbarism.” With the wars of the 20th century, the world’s working class was to learn how true this warning was. Yet for all the suffering wrought in the name of securing capitalist democracy, the world continues to be plagued by war and violence. Why? The Socialist Equality Party is holding a series of public meetings to discuss the root causes of the drive toward world war, as well as the socialist alternative."
